WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT

– Melissa Ruff | Live Free Wives Director

“ We exist to provide a community for those who’ve been impacted by porn and sexual betrayal so they can find the support needed to live the life they were created to enjoy.”

We Believe
People Need People

It’s not just our opinion, it’s scientific fact. We need other people in our lives for optimal mental and emotional health. An authentic, like-minded community not only helps us achieve our goals but empowers us to make better life decisions.

Awareness Is Half the Battle

When we feel like we are out of control of our emotions or decisions overwhelmed by the trauma of a spouse’s addiction, it seems as if we are spiralling down a never-ending pit. But the choice to think and do these things is ours. We have the power, with God’s help, to make healthy or unhealthy decisions. We simply need the awareness to understand that when our thoughts and actions do not align with our goals and values, we are free to reframe those thoughts and actions and make a better choice.rnrn

SCIENCE AND FAITH WORK TOGETHER

Christ-centered recovery and science are not polar opposites, they are two sides of the same coin. We believe in a balanced approach to freedom recognizing the intelligent design that can be found in the biochemical, emotional and psychological components of an effective faith-based recovery program model.

We Don’t Believe
Sexual Betrayal is Your Fault

While we recognize that it can be very difficult to fully acknowledge, we know that sexual betrayal is not your fault. A sexually addicted spouse is medicating past pain. You have done nothing to cause this trauma. We believe that in order for marriages to find lasting freedom, both spouses must uncover and reconcile the deep emotional scars that lie at the root of this betrayal.

Trauma Mindset is Forever

While your spouse may or may not find freedom from sexual addiction, you can find freedom from the trauma this betrayal has caused. We believe that God has created you to live a full, beautiful life and you have the ability to change behaviors and mindsets you were never created to experience.

Betrayal Trauma Recovery Can Be Done Alone

No one is an island, and that is especially true when it comes to breaking free from the trauma that has been caused from sexual betrayal. Those who struggle in silence and isolation never find peace because loneliness is emotionally and biochemically counterintuitive to success. Effective recovery requires a community of support.

– Laura

Having a solid group of godly women who truly understand the struggle I face in my marriage to an addict, and who consistently fuel me with the word, with hope and with compassion has been absolutely essential. I have grown and healed so much from this group, learning to walk in joy, peace and faith even in spite of the difficulties in marriage.

– Emily

I have been with my small group for over 3 years. They have been an incredible support to me during the ups and downs of being married to an addict. I would have never believed the level of intimacy and friendship you can build over a weekly web call and group text but these women have become some of my closest friends. They have taught me how to trust, how to be authentic and how to stand up for myself in my marriage through healthy boundaries. I am not alone anymore. I have a community of women who understand my pain in a way that no one ever has
